Jared Tebo signs with JamAir Paint for 2014 and wins BIG first race out!!!!

Jared wins Mod Stadium Truck at CRCRC 27th annual Winter Midwest Championships

The 2014 CRCRC Winter Mid-West Championships were held this past weekend at The Ohio R/C Factory in Jeffersonville, Ohio. With frigid temperatures and snow hitting hard a few days before the event, it was unclear how the turnout at this years event would be. Once again, the Mid-West showed their dedication to R/C Racing as over 450 entries were counted making it one of the biggest races in CRCRC's history!

In the Modified Truck Class it was Team Orion Factory Driver's Ryan Cavalieri and Jared Tebo who would battle it out for the overall TQ. Cavalieri went onto TQ round #1. Then Tebo would TQ rounds #2, #3, and #4 to take the overall TQ. Also making the A-Main for Team Orion was Jason Jakubczyk starting 6th, Team Orion USA Team Manager Joe Pillars starting 7th, and Andrew Parente bumping up from the B-Main!

A-Main #1: Cavalieri and Tebo battled it out for the entire 6-minutes. The race would come down to the last lap where Cavalieri would just edge out Tebo for the Win by less than a 1/2 second.

A-Main #2: Tebo would then take A-Main #2 in convincing fashion and also was the only driver to get by for the extra 16th lap.

A-Main #3: With Cavalieri and Tebo both having a Win and a 2nd. The Modified Truck Championship would come down to this 3rd and final A-Main. Tebo and Cavalieri once again broke away from the field early. Tebo was able to hold off a hard charging Cavalieri and once again would be the only driver to make the extra 16th lap to take the Win and the CRCRC Winter Mid-West Modified Truck Championship!

10/25/12...Austin Wayne Self breaks into NASCAR's top 10 on Facebook!!

Austin Wayne Self, NASCAR’s Most Popular Teenage Driver, last night exceeded the 100,000 fan threshold on Facebook. As of this writing he has 100,237 fans following him on his Facebook fan page. If you compare his fan count to other NASCAR driver, that ranks him as #9 in terms of the size of Facebook fan following, between Sprint Cup Driver Juan Pablo Montoya at 97,728 and Kyle Busch at 116, 882.
“Hey, this is one is not about me, but about the fans,” says Austin. “I want to thank all you guys for your continued support. For sure, without you guys we couldn’t be racing NASCAR at this level. I am grateful to each and every one of you.”
“I think it’s really cool that the majority of Austin’s fans are between 12 and 17 years old and are primarily teenagers – just like him,” says Gregory Taylor, Austin’s longtime friend and Social Media Manager. “He has a very loyal following, as you can see by the reach of most of his posts. And it is split pretty evenly between boys and girls. But the 18-25 year old demographic has been increasing lately as well as his Hispanic following.”
“We launched Austin’s Facebook page last year as kids were moving to that platform from MySpace,” says Austin’s big sister, Michail Self. “It’s been cool to watch and it’s pretty impressive when you consider the level of engagement he gets. A few of his posts get a little heated like the one last week about the San Antonio race, but most of the time it is just kids having fun, and fans following his races. Go Frogs” [Texas Christian University].
“Greg, Michail and Steven have been a tremendous support team for Austin and his Social Media efforts. These kids are all full-time college students with part-time jobs. So for them to put aside the time to give this level of support is nothing less than extraordinary and says a lot about their work ethic,” says Tim Self, Austin’s dad and President of AM Racing. “But before anyone gets any ideas [about hiring them], they are all spoken for after graduation.”
In 2013 Austin will driving the 22 Dodge for Cunningham Motorsports, the Driver Development Team for Penske Racing. His first two races of the 2013 Season will be on the Daytona Short Track during NASCAR Speed Week. At least eight of his races next year will be broadcast live on the Speed Channel. He and his Facebook fans believe they will be a quarter million strong by the end of next season.
Austin’s next NASCAR Race is this weekend at Houston Motorsports Park. He will be driving the #15 Pro Modified of Raymond De La Houssay Sponsored by Sport Clips and Big Red. He says they have some cool giveaways for the fans as their way of celebrating the 100,000.

5/31/12...Sport Clips Haircuts Added as Sponsor for 15-Year Old NASCAR Driver Austin Wayne Self

Male Hair Care Provider Expands their “Championship Experience”
In a 1-year agreement, Sport Clips Haircuts becomes a key sponsor of the 07 Sellers Racing Chevrolet, in exchange for product endorsement and social media marketing support from Austin Wayne Self and AM Racing.
“We just feel so fortunate to continue to build the foundation of our program from within our home state of Texas. Sport Clips aspires to build a “Championship Experience” for their customers, and we believe that Austin, as a rising NASCAR champion who has built a very strong social media following, will bring tangible value to their brand,” says Tim Self, President of AM Racing.
Austin will compete in 27 NASCAR late model races in 2012 and will move to North Carolina in February to be closer to the team.
“Our momentum is really beginning to take hold as we get ready to start the 2012 season.  It really feels good to get support from a Texas company.  In a way, it helps make me feel like I’m still at home even though we’re moving out to North Carolina.  This puts me one step closer to realizing my dreams, and I will definitely work hard to deliver results for Sport Clips and for my fans,” says Austin Wayne Self.

The 27year old brit, now a 5year resident of Indianapolis, Indiana, will finally mark his foray into the Nascar stock car world after a sponsor setback earlier in the year cut short his NASCAR Canadian Tire Series campaign.
"This is a great moment for me. I've enjoyed a lot of success in Open-wheel formula racing but I've wanted to try the NASCAR route for a while now. I thought I would be racing full-time this year in Canadian Stock cars but that didn't work out and I had to move on. Now I have a shot at the NASCAR Nationwide series which is an even bigger opportunity and I have butterflies in my stomach thinking about the weekend."

7/18/11...Austin Wayne Self gets another win in NASCAR Late Model Division!!!!!!!

Kyle, Texas — Monday, July 18 — Thunderhill Raceway
After starting P4 in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modified Division, Self quickly showed he had a fast car by charging into first place using the outside groove on a restart.  By Lap 20, Self extended to a 10-car-length lead and never looked back as the balance of the race was all green flag.
“I really have to thank David Umscheid and JR for setting up the best Pro Mod out there tonight.  Once we were able to get to the front, I knew nobody could catch us. We have been using the high groove a lot this season to make passes especially in the Late Model. It’s a cool thing when your crew gives you a car that can run on top or on the bottom. We had a really good car tonight” said Self.
“I also want to congratulate the Umscheid family on their second grandchild.  Michael and his wife had a daughter earlier this week.  Their family is very close, so I appreciated that David was still there for us at the track this weekend.”
The Modified win brings Self’s NASCAR win total to 4.
